Congratulations on becoming an Associate at LA London! How did your journey with LA London start?
I joined LA when I first arrived from New Zealand back in 2019. I started out as an intermediate level Architectural Technician, providing support to projects where required.
How has your expertise as an architectural technologist shaped your role at LA London?
I have utilised my experience in a technical role to help in my trajectory towards becoming the Technical Director. The challenges that are common with this role have been the catalyst for my progression.

As an associate, what are your primary responsibilities?
My main role is overseeing the technical development of the company. This involves progressing our Standard Details library, mentoring junior/intermediate staff and collaborating closely with the lead architects to coordinate building systems and resolve complex technical challenges.
What do you think sets LA London apart from other firms in the industry?
We are known in the industry for providing a high-quality service for our clients from start to finish on all projects, while also working efficiently with consultants and contractors to ensure compliancy with building regulations.
We are always striving to improve our processes and knowledge, with internal trainings and workshops as a means to upskill the team. Our range of experience and strong work ethic means project deliverables are achieved effectively. Also, having our own in-house measured survey company helps set us apart.

What projects have you been most proud of during your time at LA and why?

The project I am most proud of is a recently-completed high-end residential refurbishment, that has been on site since October 2022. The project involved a full strip-out of the five-storey house, construction of a basement beneath the entire footprint and extensions. We are now progressing with the construction of a new pool house in the garden, which will be completed in August this year.
